2009 Season – August 1, 2008 thru July
31, 2009
Stop #8 – December 13
& 14, 2008
Stop #8 of the 2008 season was the Corey Sanders Memorial held at Ebonite Galaxy Lanes in Columbia, TN. The tournament started with a field of 57 bowlers. The divisions were ten (10) Minors and seventeen (17) Classic with thirty (30) Masters. Galaxy Lanes is the second of three Nashville area stops on the SSJBATour. The funds for Superbowl 2009 are summarized in the link following; Superbowl Funds. The Corey Sanders Memorial tournament had a Draft One of twenty four competitors all with a 200 and above average. Draft Two had twenty competitors all with a 172 and above average. Draft Three had thirteen competitors with averages below 172. The field was balanced, due to the reclassification of bowler's divisions according to the new 2009 Advancement criteria. The 2009 season will only advance a bowler if their average is five pins above their division maximum & they have a championship OR if their average remains at ten pins above their division maximum for two consecutive tournaments without a championship.
Ball award for pins over average in the qualifying round went to Josh Morphis who had 94 pins over his average of 196 with a 290 game. Aaron Davidson rolled a 300 game on Saturday and during Sunday Match Play there were two games of 299 rolled by Matt Brannan and Joseph Lundie.
Galaxy Lanes had a Draft 1 with Twenty Four (24) bowlers and a Draft 2 with twenty (20) bowlers and a Draft 3 with thirteen (13) bowlers. The fields are provided below. If the bowler made semifinals round they are followed by an asterisk (*). Eventual Champions followed by three asterisks (***).
