2009
Season – August 1, 2008 thru July 31, 2009
Stop #17 – May 9
& 10, 2009
Stop #17 Final Stop of the 2009 season known as Last Chance Stop was held at Vestavia Bowl in Vestavia Hills, AL. The tournament started with a field of 55 bowlers just as the previous Stop did. The members by Division were ten (10) Minors, twenty two (22) Classic and twenty three (23) Masters. The tournament was conducted as Divisions, since no conditions for Draft existed. Vestavia Bowl is the third and final STOP in the Birmingham area for the current season of the SSJBATour. Funds for Superbowl 2009 are summarized in link: Superbowl Funds. We did achieve a $10,000 level for Super Bowl Scholarships thanks to the participation level at the last two Stops. We also were able to qualify 46 for Super Bowl 2009 rather than the 44 level we were at prior to the level of participation at these last two Stops. It appears we have gotten past the economic downturns effect on our participation levels.
Ball award for pins over average in the qualifying round went to David Ballentine who had 84 pins over his average of 195 with a 279 game. On Sunday, Kristopher Prather rolled a 300 game and an 813 series in the first three games.
Vestavia Bowl had a Draft 1 (Masters) with Twenty Three (23) bowlers and a Draft 2 (Classic) with Twenty Two (22) bowlers and a Draft 3 (Minors) with ten (10) bowlers. The fields are provided below. If the bowler made semifinals round they are followed by an asterisk (*). High Qualifier followed by two asterisks (**).
Links also in Red and Green background area reflect Saturday round results for all drafts.
